August 26, 2004

VERNON (Special) - A methamphetamine suspect who eluded Wilbarger County officers has been nabbed in Wichita Falls.

Wilbarger County Chief Deputy Larry Lee said Wichita County officers arrested 22-year-old John Lawrence Yingling Tuesday after a brief chase.

Lee said Yingling was one of two men who escaped from officers Aug. 14 and hid in dense brush along the Pease River after a game warden discovered an apparent meth lab.

Two other men, Jeremy Scott Olson and Jimmy Alan Northcutt, were arrested after a short chase that day. They were charged with manufacture of a controlled substance. Olson posted a $70,000 bond and Northcutt posted a $60,000 bond.

The fourth man remains at large.

Lee said Yingling possessed a substance believed to be meth when he was picked up in Wichita Falls and will likely face charges in Wichita County in addition to Wilbarger County.
